Celebrating the Interdisciplinary Parent Representation Program!

November 14, 2024

OPD’s Interdisciplinary Parent Representation (IPR) Program pairs experienced social workers with parent attorneys to enhance legal representation for parents involved in an abuse, neglect, or dependency case. Started in October 2022, the program is currently in six counties (Buncombe, Cleveland, Lincoln, Mecklenburg, New Hanover and Wake). On November 14, 2024, OPD and NC’s Court Improvement Program cosponsored the first IPRP conference. IPRP attorneys and social workers came together for learning sessions, an inspiring keynote speaker and a facilitated discussion designed to celebrate successes and identify needed improvements.
